Just Added: Three Social Media Bootcamps
February 23, 2009
This is a conceptual course, focused on the why and when of social media… as opposed to the “how to.” However, I don’t want anyone who doesn’t know the basics to be left behind. I’ve planned three social media bootcamps for weeks 1, 2 and 3 of the term.
Location:
- Proctor 42 (Knight Library room)
Laptops are available or bring your own. Limit 25 people.
Time:
- noon – 2 pm Friday week 1, 2 and 3
Topics:
- April 3: RSS, Feedreaders, Blogging overview
- April 10: Blogging, Social Networks, Twitter
- April 17: Podcasting & Videocasting with Ed Madison of Engaging Media (update)

Kelli,
I bet there would be many UO faculty and staff who would be thrilled to attend if you have any openings after students have signed up. I can think of a few people right away who would leap at the chance to attend something like this. Please keep me posted and consider publicizing this widely if you have extra spaces.

Hey Kelli!
It’s your old office mate!
I just wanted to tell you how exciting and innovative I think your class is. I love what you’re doing over there. The bootcamp is a fantastic idea.
So much newfangled fun to figure out.
I’m looking forward to learning more about your approach.
I teach in the New Media program at OSU.
Take care!

Hi Pam! So nice to hear from you!
We’re having a lot of fun in the class, even though I think everyone feels a little bit like they’re drowning at the moment. 🙂
Thanks for the note and I’m sure I’ll “see” you soon.
Kelli
